Do not use Botox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders.

Sunburned skin is difficult to treat so avoid exposure to the sun.

Avoid Waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

Avoid the use of Alpha Hydroxy Acids higher than 10% and avoid Retinoids for 1-2 days prior to treatment.

Inform your clinician if you have a history of Perioral Herpes (cold sores) to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.

Always inform your clinician of all medications you may be taking as well as your medical history.

Xeomin/Botox Injection After Care

Avoid applying pressure and massaging the treated areas for a few hours after the procedure. This may disperse the Botox or Xeomin into undesired areas.

Avoid lying down or bending over for 4 hours after treatment as this may allow the product to disperse in undesired directions.

Avoid strenuous exercise and yoga after the procedure. This may raise your blood pressure and pulse causing more bruising and swelling.

You may apply make-up after the procedure.

You may apply cold compresses to the treatment sites to reduce swelling and bruising. We recommend Arnica cream to treat any bruising. Note that any bumps or marks from the extremely small needle sticks will go away within a few hours. If you do develop a bruise it will resolve like any other bruise. There is occasionally some mild pain, swelling, itching, or redness at the site of injection similar to most other injections. Redness may last for 1-2 days, rarely longer.

Results of your treatment may take up to 14 days to take full effect although many people will recognize the benefits in 3-5 days after treatment.

Xeomin and Botox injections are temporary procedures. In most people the benefits last about 3-4 months. Sometimes a few wrinkles may start to return in 2-3 months. The effectiveness of the injections will last longer with successive treatments.
